Seven things to Think About before You Consult an Astrologer

1. Astrology should be able to Answer to Your Question(s) - but only if you ask!

What's the difference between an astrologer an a psychic? A psychic "feels" an answer, often based on focusing on something belonging to you, whether a personal possession, or the name you were born with. An astrologer crafts an answer based on computing and then interpreting the positions of the planets for a particular time, whether now, a time in the future, or the time you were born.

Because astrology depends on a technology thousands of years old, it has been tweaked over the centuries to address those timeless questions - relationships, work, travel, and happiness. But the astrologer doesn't read your mind: it can only deliver on the question(s) you put to the astrologer.

2. Your Situation is embedded within the Time Flow of Your Life

Things may seem to be clicking now - or things may seem to have fallen apart. How can you understand what is happening to you? You may choose to focus your astrology reading in several different ways:

Your primary focus may be on a single question, like: Will I get the job I applied for? Will I be with X for the rest of my life? Is it a good idea to move to Chicago? Where is my lost ring? Is he telling the truth? If that's what you want, then you need horary astrology. Horary is designed to provide a laser focus on one question that has been bothering your - and provide you with the answer, and usually some background to put this question in context.

Your biggest need may be to set up the best time to do something. This type of astrology is called electional. Examples of elections include weddings, business beginnings, surgery times, beginning a diet, quitting smoking, buying a house, or taking a trip.

If nothing else, your primary question may be: when is the pain over? This is one particular focus for the Yearly Natal Update.

How about a quickie? For when you either don't have time or funds for a full reading. Sometimes you don't need a full reading, but you've got a crisis now. Lee's one-half hour quickie format lets you specify the issue, and we get right down to it. The one hour consultation is twice as much time to consider problems that may be more varied, or more detailed.

You may not know your time of birth - and this has stopped you from consulting an astrologer. There are two answers for this. The first is horary astrology listed above - asking questiions that way doesn't require a birth time. But the second option is rectification: the process of finding a birth time, or time predictive of the events in your life. Rectification is considered a specialty - and Lee does it.

You're a student of astrology: and you know that you are about to be slammed by Saturn, Pluto or some nasty configuration. Strangely, classical astrology as practiced by Lee may give you a very constructive framework to use on these stages of life. Pick the Saturn or Pluto Dynamics reading, and talk out your concerns in a half hour format.

Students of Astrology: Need a discussion of how Saturn or Pluto is affecting your chart this year?

How do you tell which to use between the natal reading, yearly update, one hour, or half hour formats? It depends. The timed formats mean that Lee doesn't do advance preparation, which she does do for the natal and yearly formats. She does do her computations by computer, but the timed formats are a little less streamlined because of this - although, if Lee already has your data, this will help. A one-half hour format is enough time to comprehensively cover one issue, like health or job prospects, but probably not more than that.

3. What can Astrology tell me about my life in general?

You probably know your Sun Sign, but it may not be entirely clear whether that's meaningful to you, apart from its use as a pick-up line. How much can you expect an astrology "reading" to tell you about yourself? For the last century, the tendency of many astrologers has been to use astrology to do character delineation. This can be done, but astrology can do so much more. Your birth chart shows your potential - but not your fate. It shows the shortest distance between two points - but not the only way. Can you imagine how much time, energy and money you could save if you just participated in your life, without tilting at windwills? This is what natal astrology can do for you. Natal astrology is what most people think of when they say astrology. It is the examination of the birth chart, and how the issues laid out in it are effected by temporal developments.

4. Do You want to know if this year is something special?

Think about it: special can be a blessing or a curse. Remember that Chinese curse about living in interesting times? The purpose of a yearly update is to examine the specific natal trends for a particular year. This type of consultation usually only occurs after the client has had a general natal consultation, although not necessarily with Lee. Many people interested in astrology do this once a year, usually around the time of the birthday. The yearly update can help you to tell whether this is a year that represents a turning point in your life, or business as usual. You can also find out what particular themes will be emphasized this year, and what you can put on the back burner.

Some people want even more information: less thematic, and more event-oriented. You may have a business where you need to schedule events, or know when you need to avoid signing papers. Lee provides a written report (typically about 10-15 pages of detailed analysis by month, and specifically looks for dates for particular activities you specify - either to use, or to avoid.

5. Are You worried about your Business - or do You want to start one?

Apart from marketing applications, the typical business consultation includes examining the dynamics of the principals and the business, employee relations, and client cycles. we can also use the chart of your business to examine specific business cycles, and how to take advantage of them. 6. What if my issues don't fall in the categories you have listed?

One of the best ways for you to get the best possible advice is to discuss you issues before your session. Because astrology has specific methods and systems for examining different types of issues, you will likely get much more specific information if you discuss any particular concerns first. Then, you can work out how best to discuss those important concerns.

7. What if I cannot afford a consultation?

We can provide a number of reports that are computer-generated, based on your birth information. These include an interpretation of the birth chart, or dynamic factors for this year, or relocation considerations, or questions about illness, and many other possibilities. Computerized reports are much less expensive than a consultation. They often don't feel as personal, and they are not interactive. Still, there is a lot of information you can find out from them.
