“For each child that’s born
a morningstar rises and sings to the universe
who we are.”
Sages of old observed the cycles of the planets and linked them with events on earth. The study of this phenomenon came to be known as astrology.
Since that time astrologers discovered that Astrology can be used as a tool to help you to understand the influences that constitute the ground of your life: parents, temperament, talents and skills; those areas where you have control – and those where you don’t.
A natal chart reading can show you how to learn, what sort of environment is necessary for you to work successfully, how you handle stress, what kinds of disease complexes are likely to be problematic for you, how you handle relationships, and what kinds of things you get out of either relationships in general, or those with specific people. That is the descriptive part of astrology.
And then you want to know, “But how is life impacting me – now, next week, next month, or next year?” Astrology can predict, but not absolutely. It can characterize the kinds of influences you are likely to encounter. It can characterize your habit patterns and something about the way that you think and make decisions. And perhaps best of all, astrology can help you to understand and to anticipate the duration of both the good times and the bad.
Because Astrology postulates that the cycles of the planets can mirror our circumstances, we have an ideal tool to examine the longer trends in life to see just exactly where you are in these processes and how you can find opportunities for birthing your free will. It’s a way which helps you to distinguish between the things you can change, and the things that would cost too much energy and time to change.
What is the birth chart?
The birth chart, or natal chart, is nothing more than a snapshot of the sky. It’s what you would see if you were lying on your back looking up at the sky at the very time and place of your birth. The info required to calculate the birth chart includes the month, day and year of your birth; the time of day you were born (as close to the exact hour and minute as possible) and the place of your birth.
Because each birth is a singular moment in a singular place, the chart reading is individual and tailored exactly to reflect your life‘s current priorities, concerns and dilemmas, be they business, personal, spiritual, or through your association within a community.
Natal astrology includes:
Forecasting for individuals, romantic and other relationships, personalized wellness regimes, vocational and educational guidance as well as personal goal setting.
Lifetime Financial Planning: We all have differences in the ease of financial success at different times of our lives. This consultation focuses on which methods of acquisition (earning, speculating, inheriting) work best, and when! Retirement planning is specifically addressed.
Career and Education: What do you find fulfilling in work, and can you really make money at the job of your dreams? Geared to where you are in your own career path, we can also examine educational methods, and which styles make it easiest for you to learn.
The Natal Chart Consultation is an introductory natal reading, where we engage in a conversation about your life, and its general trends. You can also select this type if your issues for the next couple of years are complicated enough that 90 minutes sounds more appropriate than the 60 minutes of the typical yearly update.
You have a choice for this reading of either a consultation of about 90 minutes by phone or VOIP, or a personalized PowerPoint presentation that addresses your specific concern for the time period. In the case of the PowerPoint, you are encouraged to clarify any issues through e-mail. We recommend the Powerpoint option for people who have English as a second language, because the Powerpoint text can be pasted into translation software.
In either method, Lee will ask you for a series of questions related to your priorities for discussion, to insure that the topics which are most important to you are discussed.
Self Care Hippocratic Consultation is an exploration of the temperament and other qualities of your chart that would have been used prior to the 19th century to create a unique life style plan, whether through diet, exercise, sleep patterns, or stress reduction – what would in the day have been called regimen. We will examine a roughly three year period to optimize how you can approach the coming events and stay as sane and healthy as possible. The first time consultation gives natal tendencies and suggestions for how to work with these through diet, herbs, exercise, and other lifestyle choices. This will then cover the upcoming changes. The renewal covers an additional 2 years.
Rectification: There are many methods based on the birth chart that require a fairly exact time. Yearly forecasts are difficult without a close time. Relocation is next to impossible without a fairly accurate time.
Most astrologers are fairly comfortable adjusting a chart by 15 minutes plus or minus from the given birth time. This becomes fairly obvious in studying the person for a couple of years: predicted dates fall consistently early or consistently late.
But what if there’s a problem with your time that’s more than a few minutes?
Your birth certificate may not have a time on it at all. Different states have at different points changed their regulations about whether a time is recorded.
You may still be in luck: hospitals began to do early diagnostic tests on infants that require doing observation in the first few minutes of life: accordingly, you may be able to get access to hospital records of those measurements. But then, you may not have been born in a hospital.
Your mother may remember your time as considerably different than your birth certificate time. My own mother remembered my time as roughly three hours earlier than my recorded time.
There may be a problem with your birth record that obscures the time, such as a smudge on the original.
The process of studying life events in order to estimate the correct birth time is called rectification. Although the general techniques are very old, rectification is considered a specialty. This was often because it was so time-consuming to do, that many astrologers simply didn’t want the work. Now there are computer programs to help the scanning process – but the scan is only the first step. The resulting possibilities need to be checked, in order to propose a time with any confidence.
Here’s how Lee works. First, she will give you a questionnaire asking for biographical information, and the ten most important dates in your life. These might include: births of children, death dates of parents, graduation dates, traumatic events, medical issues, etc. She will ask about specific things in your life. She will then use these events to scan for likely times, and then check those times against astrological events drawn for those times using at least three entirely unrelated systems. If more than one time potentially checks out, she may send you some descriptions based on the “finalists” for your input. There is usually one or more rounds of follow-up questions once Lee has received the questionnaire. Once Lee has the proposed time, she will give you some predictions for the next six months or so to begin to check the precision of the time.
One caveat: the smaller the range of time, the better the results are likely to be. Four to six hours or less is a good time range for doing this sort of work. Larger time intervals are likely to result in several possible times, and it may be difficult to extract only one. The longer the time range beyond six hours, the more time intensive this process becomes. Please check with Lee first if your unknown period is more than six hours, because an additional fee may be required.
Anything else you need?
If what you want doesn’t fall easily into these areas, contact Lee to design a custom format that will meet your needs.
Lee records you consultation through meeting software, so you can either phone in, or log in through your computer, tablet, or smart phone. The recording your receive will be an mp4 video recording. It works best to have a headset/ microphone combination for your computer. This is especially great if you know astrology, and would like to also “look over Lee’s shoulder” while she does the consultation.
The not-so-fine print: failure to show for an appointment does not constitute a reason for cancellation of charges, because work has been done. If you are more than 15 minutes late to an appointment, it will likely need to be rescheduled, and 15 minutes time will be deducted from the appointment time.
